The 6m high main boulder at Craig Peniel, a superb bouldering area situated above Blaenau Ffestiniog. To reach it approach as for Chwarel Manod (which is home to various Mel Griffiths test pieces up to E7) but continue leftwards up the incline until it flattens out. From here the main boulder can be seen 150m diagonally over to the left (OS ref 713 455). There are several good satellite problems in the same area. Overall there are around twenty quality problems running from Font 5 to Font 7A, with potential for half a dozen harder lines up to Font 8A. Photo: Si Panton
