Most folk would be keen for a break after a big head busting redpoint siege, but not our man on the lime, Chris Doyle who recently climbed the F8b roof line Temple of Gloom.

After a week of relaxation and consumption of sugary treats, Chris bounced straight back with a pair of new lines in his favourite crag of the moment: Llanddulas Cave.

Best of the pair was Upside Doom F7c/+, which climbs up the steepening wall left of the start of Temple of Gloom, before making wild moves across the roof to grab a hanging belay in the porthole. Although fairly short the route is powerful, tricky and sustained.

A less satisfying line reaches the same porthole belay from the right wall. Doomside Up rates F6c+/7a.
