Tremadog Festival 2010

Mike Raine’s Tremadog clean up campaign continues for the fourth year with another festival occurring on Saturday 24th April. Base camp as usual will be Eric’s Café below Craig Bwlch y Moch and registration will start at 9.30 am.

The idea is to give the crag a spring clean, pruning back the vegetation where previously popular routes have become overgrown. If you want to get involved all you have to do is turn up with some secateurs, or a pruning saw and a brush; pick a suitable route and get to it. All comers are welcome, whatever your grade or experience, just get down their and get involved.

There will be a Grand Prize Raffle with various juicy prizes from V12 Outdoor, Ground Up DMM, Joe Brown’s, Pete’s Eats and the BMC. There will also be free camping or bunkhouse accommodation, plus free local beer (both sponsored by the BMC and the Climbers’ Club).

There will also be a free evening show: Climbing the Dragon’s Horn - a Welsh Expedition to Malaysia’s Big Walls by Steve Beckwith and Matthew Travers, and of course, a convivial late night bonfire.

If you need to know any more, then contact the team on bmccymruwales@live.co.uk.

The Tremadog wiki has details of routes which have been cleaned during the recent campaigns. To read a report of last year’s festival go to the Ground Up site.
